Conscious Kids Yoga and Stories
In October, join us for a 3-part kid’s yoga series each featuring a different book from local author and yoga instructor, Danielle Atherton Rutledge!
All yoga events will be held in the Indoor Children’s Play area (near HomeGoods, across from DSW)
Oct 11th, 18th, and 25th 9:30-10:30 am
Guests are encouraged to bring water and a yoga mat, but not required. Each week, each child will receive a free book!
Week 1:
I will teach a relaxing “bedtime yoga flow” that the children can do before bed to calm their minds and bodies then read book 1:
The Moon is Out is a beautiful bedtime rhyme that helps children associate nighttime with calm and pleasant feelings and thoughts. Every turn invites your child to close the day in gratitude and welcome the night with a peaceful attitude as they “lay their sweet, soft cheeks on their clean, crinkled pillows and sheets.”
The dreamy and delicate watercolor illustrations and the whimsical words take your child to a safe and serene place where they can “dance and sing as the Moonbeams glisten and bestow their blessings on all that is below.” Enhance your child’s vocabulary as you help them create the calm they crave one carefully crafted word and illustration at a time. The “Have You Ever” section in the back of the book will help you and your child understand new words and give your child a chance to talk the last of their energy out before falling fast asleep.
